Intro

Cloning a sensor allows the user to quickly add a number of sensors of the same type. For example adding a number of similar sensors that are connected as analog imputes but only require a small alteration to the Hardware address.

Clone a sensor:

1. Go to the home view by clicking in the ubiworx logo or the home icon.
2. In the main view click on the gateway you want to add the sensor.

3. Once the view loads, click the Clone button in the sensors side navigation menu under the Configuration section.
4. From the dropdown menu select the sensor you want to duplicate the configuration.

5. Add the details for the new sensor into the fields. See the section bellow for a description of the required fields.
6. Create the new sensor:

• Using the Clone button, the changes are saved on the ubiworx broker and will be synced the next time the device reconnects. This option can be used if you want to add multiple sensors and only sync at the end using the sync option.
• Using the Clone & Sync button, the changes are saved on the ubiworx broker and a sync request is sent to the gateway.

Note:

To perform the Hardware address changes you still need to edit the sensors details. See the edit sensors section for ways on how to achieve this.
