Introduction

This section includes a step-by-step guide on how to add a new gateway to the system and how to replace a faulty gateway. Use the steps described bellow if you wish to add a new Supermicro E100-8Q box to the system or if an existing Supermicro E100-8Q box needs replacing.

Prerequisites

In order to add or replace a gateway the following items are required:

• New Supermicro E100-8Q box with a Wi-Fi card.
• Memory card with the ubiworx™ software installed.

Memory cards are suplied by Emutex, please contact us for more details.

Add a new gateway

1. Log into the ubiworx interface and click on the Add button in the left navigation menu. To go directly to the Add gateway form click here.
2. Fill in the form, detailed instruction on how to fill in the form can be found here.
3. Export the configuration file by clicking the export button in the left navigation menu, see the export documentation for detailed instructions.
4. Copy the downloaded file to a USB stick.
5. Insert the USB into the new Supermicro E100-8Q box. The configuration process will start automatically.
6. Once the configuration has finished the Supermicro E100-8Q box will shutdown. This process can take up to 2 - 3 minutes.
7. Remove the USB stick and power up the board.
8. On boot up the board will automatically connect to the ubiworx server and the gateway should appear as active in the ubiworx interface.

Replace a damaged gateway

1. Log into the ubiworx interface and click on the Edit button in the left navigation menu. To go directly to the Edit gateway form click here.
2. From the dropdown menu select the gateway you want to replace.
3. Change the MAC address to match the Wi-Fi MAC address of the new Supermicro E100-8Q board and click the Save button.
4. Next follow the steps 3 to 8 from above to complete the setup.

Delete gateway

The ubiworx interface does NOT allow users to delete any gateway or sensors.
